Solo and EnsembleGot back yesterday at about 6:45 pm from Solo and Ensemble contest in Platteville. I had to be up by 4:30 to get ready, and on the bus by 6:00 in the morning. uggghh. What a drag that was. I stayed at a friend's house that night, and I didn't hardly get any sleep. Regardless.
I left all of my music at home and I was lucky to borrow copies and share; my parents came and gave me my music at about noon, and I had my solo left. I finished that and waited for the results.
I got 1 in everything! (1 is like, first place, I guess) This is my first year for band, so it really was a lot for me. I was so thrilled when I found my solo had gotten a first.
The bus ride back was a lot less than I had imagined at first. My friends were annoying to me, and nobody was hyper and thrilled and everything like I expected. Oh well.
This Tuesday, we have the Jazz Contest, and I hope we do very well, because we know both songs we're performing so well we can play with our eyes closed. It's going to be great.

Long-due update..
I got not three, not even four, but five, that's right, FIVE medals for Solo and Ensemble. All of them were first place. Two of them were for participating in large groups.. I was part of a woodwind ensemble and a jazz ensemble, but the other three I got for a solo, a trio, and a duet.
Heh. I hope that next year I can do better than all class C's though.
