Christmas Performances..... for my school's band and jazz band. YAY. Two appearances at two different schools (St. Mary's and an elementary school called Jefferson) and the Christmas concert at the high school (likely to be videotaped, EEK). Overwhelming. Nevertheless, I love band appearances and the chance to show off. Heh. Actually, most people who file into the gyms and auditoriums don't care or are bored by school band performances. Songs include: Jazz - Greensleeves(rendition of What Child is This), Frosty the Snow Man, Linus and Lucy if you've seen Charlie Brown; and for regular band, a song called Runaway Sleigh, We Five Kings which is based off of We Three Kings and What Child is this in 5/4 time (minor challenge), and Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas. Depending on what period lessons we're in in school, we play another song -- either Hark! The Herald Angels Sing or First Noel. I'm the only flute in the group I play with.
Excited for this because there's so much to do! Hope you all survive through the next few weeks til Christmas break.
