thanks
our stuff doesn't tend to get sent to london (and only their edition goes online) so we're not often on the internet.
the knicker story is our front page up in scotland
the woman is a legend....all the agencies/radio/tv etc are chasing her.
lol

That IS scary! My goodness, did she wash them before she wore them or was it the actual fiber that she reacted to?

Do you know what ladies, I'm sure I bought a pair of 4 pound tummy tuckers (or nanna pants as I call them) from Primark. Whilst I wasn't allergic to them, they did cause me so much discomfort on Christmas Eve in Malaysia that I had to take them off due to the nausea it gave me. I was cured in an instant and had to go commando all night as I didn't bring a back up and I was at a posh 5 star hotel for dinner!!
Gail, great story, it's so good to see some of your work, and to make front page too, fantastic!

Oh my gosh...I wonder what it is that's causing the problem?!? There was an episode of "House" where 2 teenage boys got really really ill (don't remember if they v*d). Turns out they had bought stolen jeans out of the back of some guys truck, and the truck is usually used for pesticides or something, so by not washing the pants before wearing them, they both absorbed these chemicals through their skin. (As far as I know it's not based on a true story, but it doesn't sound too far fetched...)

according to the doctor we speak to for an expert view on medical stories, it could have been a LATEX allergy.
there was no latex listed on the label of the pants but as far as we could work out, manufacturers don't NEED to declare it if it's below a certain percent. so there could have been some in the tummy-control panel.....
or the GP said the pants could have been 'contaminated' by latex meant for another product in the manufacturing process....
i thought that, cos this nurse would be wearing latex gloves all the time for work, she couldn't possibly have an allergy to it and NOT be aware ...
but the doctor says the MORE you're exposed to something, the more likely you are to react.
she says 15 per cent of the medical profession have a latex allergy cos they work around it so much!!!!
i didn't know that

It made a great story though didnt it..
I developed an over night cheese allergy. During the time danni had chicken pox, i started getting a funny stinging rash with a cold, at first i though she had passed it to me.. However, it turns out i was getting hives.
After a few weeks trying to cut out different foods, it turns out to be cheese.. i cant even have a packet of wotsits without getting hives over my legs and bottom and arms and chest...!! Before this i ate alot of cheese.....
I love cheese.. how odd !!!
