Hey,
Just wanted to ask a question...when you go shopping and buy food (chilled and frozen), how long would you be happy for the food to be in the shopping trolley/car/bus etc for- from when it has been taken from the shelf to the house-what are you guys happy with-15 mins/30mins/45mins?
I ask because i am mostly relaxed about chilled foods overall, though aways get them last after say tinned foods or whatever, but recently i have become a bit odd about frozen food and feel like the second i get it from the freezer im in a mad dash to get it home and into my freezer, and that every second its out in the 'non frozen air' lol its 'thawing' and bacteria is growing!
Basically now i dont really buy frozen food and am getting fed up of my limited diet options-and the anxious thoughts!!.
Can anyone offer some rational thoughts!
(And just to mention-i am veggie, so not purchasing meats etc-am talking about margerita pizzas, chips, frozen veg, veggie burgers etc etc).
Many thanks,
Love, SugarPlum x

I do always try to buy my cold/frozen foods last so they spend a little less time out of refrigeration. It's especially important here because it can get over 120 degrees (F -- about 49 degrees C) in the summertime. Generally, after putting them in my cart, checking out, getting them to the car, and unloading them probably would be around 30 mins I guess. It doesn't bother me at all actually, likely because most of those things are cooked before eating :)
The only thing I freak out about is when my in-laws send us my favorite deep dish pizza from back home. It's supposed to arrive overnight, packed in dry ice, but last time UPS screwed up and it took an extra day to get it. It had spinach in it, no meat, and I was really worried about eating it, but it was fine! |

| 15-30 mins. Not long ago my Mum took about an hour to get home and even though they were all like "It's fine" I didn't touch it and put it in the bin. Don't think she was best impressed. Lucky I live on my own now! |
