Basically I came off the contraceptive implant nearly 6 months ago and I havent had a period yet?
Just wondering if any of you ladies have any advice or experience?
I was on the pill before hand but I always had irregular periods from being a teenager and its really bugging me as me and OH want to start a family soon (eek, this ones going to be a whole new thread entirely, i might even have to take over dragonflys thread of the emets view of trying for a baby, lol) and Im getting a bit worried, I havent had any sign of one coming on yet and am beginning to panic... Im sure something should have shown up by now....
Any advice????

i had the implant - but it didnt work for me - it made my heavy periods worse!! - so after a year they decided to take it out, but i had a period straight away. Its suppose to come out of your system straight away - so could it be you are pregnant already?? I would take a test - and whatever the outcome go and discuss it with your doctor.
I cant recall if you have a good or bad diet?? because this can be a factor- and also if you smoke???

Hi
I am definitely not pregnant, I have taken heaps of tests because thats what I thought and they have all come back negative.
My diet is ok, it was quite poor but I am getting back on track with it all now and for the past 4 months or so it has been quite healthy and normal.
I do smoke but not that much and not that often.
Doctor doesnt know about it. Im too scared to go and say anything...
My periods were always irregular when I was younger and when I was on the implant I didnt have a single bleed what so ever. :(
So confused I dont know what to do....
Thanks for the advice though guys....

Update!!
Been to family planning clinic tonight
Did three pregnancy tests and all negative (as i thought)
I was told that my periods should have returned immediately after I had my implant removed and the absence of periods is not a problem unless you are planning a family (which I am!!)
She suggested that I go and see my GP as soon as possible to eliminate PCOS and other hormonal conditions etc.
Basically I am a healthy weight for my height (BMI was 22) and she asked about my diet and she said what I ate seemed perfectly fine.
So I guess its time to go and see my GP and get it sorted.

I was on the Depo injection for 4 and half years came off about a year ago.
It took 8months for my periods to come back now there back i come on exactly when i'm meant to i know the exact day.
My first three periods were horrible i was in so much pain :( i wished i never came off but now there ok i feel sick with them coming up to them and for first two days but they only last 3days and very light :)
I had really bad pregnancy sypmtoms coming off the injection up until my first period i had bad nausea alot, bad mood swings and was always hungry and bloated.
Now a year later i only feel sick on my actual periods, when i was on the injection and came off i was 10stone 4 i'm now down to 8stone 13 and getting back into size 8 clothing :)

Thanks for that Lolly
Thats made me feel a whole lot better, everyone is different I guess.
Ive put weight on since coming off the implant, gone from 7st 13lb to 9st 2lb :(
Its just frustrating as we are wanting to try for a baby and we are both getting impatient. lol
Cheers for the advice though hun
